  • The Open Championship is headed to Scotland this week at the famed Royal Troon Golf Course, where the treacherous "Postage Stamp" hole awaits the best golfers in the world. The tiny par-3 eighth hole has a miniature green nestled on the bank of a sand dune with deep bunkers guarding it on either side. But Troon is famous for more than just its signature hole.MORE: Gary Player once described Royal Troon's back nine as "the most difficult in the world when the wind is blowing,"and the 10th hole, with itslarge sandhills making the tee shot blind, is one of the trickiest on the course.Dustin Johnson enters the week as the Dave Hollins Jersey favorite after winning the U.S. Open and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in his last two starts. He will have to fend off Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth, plus a host of others vying to clutch the Claret Jug.The British Open offers a blend of the PGA Tour's best against the European Tour's best, making it one of the most fun and unpredictable events in the world. Zach Johnson won in a thrilling playoff against Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman last year. Who will persevere this year?MORE: Here are this week's top golfers:Rory McIlroy (world ranking:4) McIlroy mi sed the cut at the U.S. Open, but he's finished in the top 10 in seven of his last 10 starts, including a win at the Irish Open. His putter has really let him down at times. Though he has tried different grips, he just can't seem to find any comfort with the flatstick. A few dropped putts could change his fortunes this week. Fantasy advice: McIlroy looks destined to win another major soon. Why not this week?Dustin Johnson (2) Johnson, who has won his last two starts, has finished in the top fivein seven of Jim Bunning Jersey his last nine tournaments. That's an eye-popping pace. His length off the tee is never a bad thing, but precision and the ability to play through wind are more important here. He can do those things well, too. Fantasy advice: Play him no matter the cost.Jason Day (1) With three wins already this year, including the Players Championship, Day has picked up where he left off last summer. Late surges at the Masters and U.S. Open weren't enough to catch the men in front. He needs to play better in the early rounds this week if he's going to win his second major. Fantasy advice: He always seems to be in the hunt, and he makes a lot of birdies.Branden Grace (10) This course is seemingly perfect for Grace's low ball flight and great short game. With Drew Hutchison Jersey four top 10s in his last six starts, including a win at the Heritage, Grace is in prime form to contend for his first major. Fantasy advice: He's a prudent play because he will likely finish in the top 20 even if he doesn't win.Adam Scott (8) The talented Au sie has done everything but win this event. Scott hasn't finished outside the top 10 at the British Open since a t-25 in 2011. He has had a number of close calls and had succe s on the European Tour before joining the PGA full time. He could be dangerous this week if his putter gets going. Fantasy advice: Recent form has been so-so, but his resume at this tournament is impre sive.Jordan Spieth (3) America's hero has developed a nasty habit Scott Kingery Jersey of whining and blamingthis season. Still, he has won twice despite rarely looking great tee-to-green. Spieth usually finishes better than he plays, so expect a top 10 even if he doesn't bring his best form. Fantasy advice: He might be one to stay away from this week. Day and Johnson are better options.Patrick Reed (13) Reed broke a streak of three poor tournaments with a t-10 last week at the Scottish Open. Like Grace, this course should be perfect for Reed's gritty style. He just needs to keep the ball and play and continue to attack if he gets in contention over the weekend. Fantasy advice: Hard to trust or predict, but he's too good to stay out of the major championship picture.Henrik Stenson (6) The stoic Swede hasn't been great on the PGA Tour this year, but he's been a force overseas with four top 10s in five starts. Stenson finished runner-up to Phil Mickelson at the Open in 2013, but he's been conspicuous in his absence from contention since. Putting is always the key for him. Fantasy advice: He is a good play if his price is manageable because he's a Juan Samuel Jersey bit off the radar.Others to watch:Andy Sullivan, Nicolas Colsaerts, Tyrrell Hatton, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson, Danny Willett, Scott Piercy, Marc Leishman, Martin Kaymer, Sergio GarciaSleepers:Gary Woodland, Danny Lee, Kevin Chappell, Ru sell Knox, Matteo Mana sero
