For years, it has been alleged that the pay at Activision Blizzard has been bad for some employees. Rounds of layoffs are also a regular thing as a game wraps up development or when a quarterly report reveals that the company failed to bring in the amount of revenue that was anticipated. In response to all of this Diablo IV Boosting, various developer studios under the publisher have begun to form unions in order to give the workers better collective bargaining positions. The first of these was Raven Software's union which was formed earlier this year.

Following Raven Software's success, Blizzard Albany began taking steps to form its own union. The people in charge of Activision Blizzard, however, have taken additional and somewhat bizarre measures to keep this from happening. In this particular instance, as revealed by The Washington Post, the company's lawyers are arguing that everyone at Blizzard Albany should be able to vote on the unionization matter. During its argument to the National Labor Relations Board, Activision Blizzard lawyers showed a trailer for Diablo 4 to support their statement that everyone involved in the franchise's development should have a vote on the matter
However, it is only the QA testing branch of the Blizard Albany that is attempting to form a union. The lawyers also made the names of several employees who were attempting to unionize public. The report did not reveal the rationale behind showing the trailer nor why the lawyers made the names public.
Behavior like this has sadly become very typical of the company in regard to unions. When Raven Software was attempting to form a union, Activision allegedly threatened staff members who were voting on the matter. As mentioned in the report, the company's current legal battle with Blizzard Albany's union appears to have two goals. The first is to delay the matter for as long as possible. The second is to get as many employees at Blizzard Albany to vote on the matter, in the hope that enough of the workers will be against the matter to tip the balance.
Despite all of these union battles with Activision Blizzard, there does appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Microsoft's pending purchase of the company may be bad for a number of reasons but could be good for the unions. Microsoft has said that it will work with unions and recognize their collective bargaining rights. Hopefully, none of these negotiations will involve Diablo 4 trailers again.
