"Furthermore we've had that the community has been asking to add these items into the single-player experience for some time. Players who play solo now can participate in the metas that were popular from the original multi-player Ladder experience. Also, single players will now also include accessibility to Pandemonium Event and Uber Diablo content."
Blizzard writes that in order to ensure the stability of servers at launch, the game's debut ladder season will start shortly after the game's launch however, it won't be accessible the first day.
Diablo 2: Resurrected just completed its early access beta with an open beta planned to take place starting the 20th of August. A small tweak that's coming in the open beta due to early feedback from beta users is that the way of buying skills has been altered by requiring separate button pressing.
This is in order to prevent players from inadvertently assigning skills points, because, outside of the one free respec earned by players in the game's initial Act, reassigning skill points can't be D2R Ladder Items Buy done until far later in the game and with much more difficulty.
