  PoE 2 retains the 6 core classes from the original game:

  
  

  Marauder

  
  

  Ranger

  
  

  Witch

  
  

  Duelist

  
  

  Templar

  
  

  Shadow

  
  

  Each class can choose between two specialized Ascendancy classes once they progress far enough. For example, the Witch can evolve into either a Sorceress (spell-focused) or a Battlemage (hybrid melee/caster).
